Dried orange garland is a beautiful and versatile decoration that can add a touch of vintage charm to any space. It is made by stringing together slices of dried oranges into a garland, which can be hung on a Christmas tree, draped over a mantel, or used as a rustic table runner. Making a dried orange garland is simple and can be done at home with just a few supplies. Not only is it a fun DIY project, but it also makes for a lovely handmade gift…and what is better then that?

how to make a dried orange garland
- Start by cutting a piece of string or jute. Measure how long you want the garland and then add a few inches. The extra length will be for the loop that you make so the garland can hang.
- Tie a loop at one end of the sting and thread the other end through the needle. If it is hard to thread through, here is a little tip. Fold a small piece of tape around the end of the string. Press it flat and then thread the needle.
3. Insert your needle into the rind of the dry orange slice. Pull the string through, move your need to the opposite side of the orange and insert needle into and throught the rind. Pull the string or jute until it is tight. Turn your orange slice over and tie a knot in the string, do not pull tight yet. Place the tip of your needle right where the string comes out of the orange. Gently tighten your know allowing the string to follow down the needle. This will ensure your knot is as close to the orange as possible.
4. The next step is to thread on a cranberry. Insert the needle into the middle of the cranberry and slide it down until you hit the knot. Make another knot in the string just as you did above.
5. Repeat until you are happy with the length of the dry orange slice garland. Make a slip knot at the end of the garland.
6. Hang on a tree or in the window, you can also use this for your table decoration.

- Slice your oranges 1/4 of an inch thick

- Check your oranges every 45 min
