Allium “Summer Beauty” makes the cut. I planted a few of these last fall to see how they did as cut flowers. I love them. They have a great vase life. I am leaving about half of the blooms for drying.
I think that I already mentioned that I love sweet peas!! Their scent is amazing. I have decided to just direct seed them in the spring as opposed to starting them inside and transplanting out. I feel like the plants did just as well that way.
Yarrow is a perennial that I grow. It is a great filler. However you need to wait until the bloom head matures and you see some of the pollen before you cut. If you cut it earlier it wilts. This is Colorado mix from Johnny seeds. https://www.johnnyseeds.com/flowers/yarrow/colorado-mix-organic-yarrow-seed-3878G.html.
The flower subscriptions have been going well. Above is a sample of what was in last weeks bouquets. I plan to do the subscriptions next season with a few tweaks. Like anything it is a learning experience.
